3D Printing Success in Saskatchewan!

Posted Kevin's 2018 Adventure

Located in Saskatoon, Create Café is not just an ordinary coffee shop — it's also a 3D printing lab!

With a deep passion for 3D printing and backgrounds in business, engineering and design, Dustin Maki, Lance Greene and Duncan Boyes turned their vision into a reality by opening the first 3D printing café in North America.

Dustin, Lance and Duncan's printing endeavours started off in 2016 as a print shop in the basement of a Dairy Queen, which the trio called "The Print Dungeon." While they were there, they met Randy Janes, another entrepreneur who was also interested in 3D printing and its potential. Randy proposed the idea of developing the World's First 3D Printed Camper Trailer with North America's largest 3D Printer! The three men jumped on board with Randy's vision.

To house the printer, the group found a bigger shop and incorporated another element: Create Café, an inviting coffee shop where 3D printing could be available to anyone.

From fixing people's problems through the power of design and print, to shipping 3D products internationally, Create Café is a dream come true for these three entrepreneurs.

"If you can dream it, we can build it," Said Dustin. It's definitely a unique venture to pursue and amazing to see how a vision and a dream has become a Saskatchewan success!
