This is the Beaver Flat 50, a trail run that is anything but flat and has to be one of the hardest and most challenging trail runs in Saskatchewan! At Saskatchewan Landing Provinical Park September 15th, more than 400 participants took on the 3rd Annual Beaver Flat 50 Trail Run.
The Prairie Sky Running Company calls it a tough "get-your-feet-wet, wreck-your-shins, and roll-your-ankle kind of run. You'' love it, hate it, and love it some more. Guaranteed," From the biggest run being 50 kilometres, to the 20k, 10k, and 5k runs - the very hilly trail run event is one of-a-kind for Saskatchewan and boasts a challenge to any runner who's looking to get their blood pumping and experience the rugged and picturesque terrain at Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park.
With over 2,300 meters of vertical gain across 50 kilometres, that's almost 8,000 feet of total climb. "The Prairies are flat" they say... I don't think so!
