Every year on November 16th, Metis communities across Saskatchewan commemorate Louis Real on the anniversary of his execution. This year, the team at The Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan saw Louis Riel Day as a fitting date for their annual Multicultural Honours Ceremony. Hosted by the Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty, this event is a celebration of multicultural contributions throughout the province.
It was a great honour to be asked to deliver the keynote address at this ceremony. Culture has been a driving force behind my perspective for this to be recognized on this scale is incredibly rewarding. Thank you MCoS for giving me this platform to tell my story and promote multiculturalism in Saskatchewan.
