On this road trip, I headed back towards Big River, west of Prince Albert National Park, to discover Ness Creek.
In Saskatchewan, Ness Creek is typically associated with summer festivals like the award-winning Ness Creek Music Festival, Country at the Creek and Northern Lights Bluegrass & Old Time Music Festival. The site is located only 20 kilometres from Big River. My first reaction? This place is super chill, mellow, tranquil and any other word you could think of to describe "relaxed."
I wasn't alone on this trip, I brought a friend along with me whom some of you may already know and recognize... 2015 Saskatchewanderer and The Lost Girl's Guide to Finding the World, Ashlyn George!
Ness Creek is an ALL-SEASON destination with heated lodges and outdoors activities, such as cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating and hiking, only steps away from your front door. Perfect for people who love snow. With cozy cabins nestled deep in the evergreen trees, this place feels like a winter wonderland inside one of those Christmas snow globes. Ness Creek is a place where you can disconnect from technology and connect with nature all year round.
