The Local Kitchen

Have you ever daydreamed about starting your own company?
Chances are it’s something you’ve thought about and, if you’re like me, you’ve thought about it often. The hard part is to take that idea you’ve spent hours talking about with your family and friends, and make it a reality.
For Caitlin Olauson, Julie Gryba and Bailey Wilmot, The Local Kitchen ( was their dream. They recognized a need in Saskatoon and decided to go for it! Their vision was simple: “To support food-focused entrepreneurs in developing, operating and growing successful businesses to enhance the local food industry.”

With three commercial kitchens available, they provide a fun, fresh and welcoming environment where community members can engage with their local food system through workshops, cooking classes and retail.
To celebrate Women Entrepreneurs Week in Saskatchewan, I couldn’t have found a better business to visit. Not only is The Local Kitchen a successful, innovative business in itself, but Caitlin, Julie and Bailey's idea provides opportunities for fellow entrepreneurs in the food industry.
