If you have a need for speed, it just so happens that there are plenty of outlets in Saskatchewan. In fact, we are home to three renowned race tracks: the Kings Park Speedway in Regina, Saskatchewan International Speedway in Clavet and the Wyant Group Raceway (WGR) in Saskatoon. The latter of the three actually hosted a Nascar Pinty Series race this past July!
Not only does WGR offer a fun outing from a spectators standpoint, but they now offer an immersive opportunity where anyone (with a valid driver's license) can burn some rubber on the official raceway tracks.
The Dakota Dunes Race Experience at the WGR gives you the chance to get behind the wheel of a real stock car and see how (dare I say) fast and furious you truly are. The experience includes ten laps in the passenger seat as an instructor teaches you the preliminary ins and outsof stock car racing - followed by 10 laps in the driver's seat. Participants have the option of a Thunderstock (for the experience of a big V8 and rear wheel drive), a Pro Truck for a V8 (rear wheel drive, fibreglass body car) and a Ministock (for the experience of a light weight front wheel drive 4 cylinder).
Check out the video below where I take one of these bad boys for a spin at the Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon!
